I've had my two White's for.. probably close to a year now, maybe less... I have them in a 15 gallon aquarium with a metal mesh lid. I've never used heating because I live in Arizona and they seemed to thrive even without it, but lately we've been keeping our apartment pretty cool and I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good type of heating for my enclosure.

I was thinking of getting a mini-heating pad and putting it underneath the tank on one side. I guess my main concern is fire-hazards. I use a soft-type astroturf for my bedding because I have had lots of issues with any type of moss/dirt bedding.

Any suggestions would be great. I do have a "metal lamp" (I don't know what those are called) that I am not using right now, but I don't know where I would put it. It seems like just setting on top of the mesh lid would be a bad idea. Anyway.. Thanks.

I also added an image of thier old 10 gal enclosure, the 15 looks the same except it's slightly larger.
