Sand good for young Beardies?

Is playsand ok for yearlings?

In my opinion, Beardies under 12 inches should be kept on paper towels cuz it's safer, (sand can cause impactions) but playsand is fine for adult Beardies

I actually haven't gotten one yet. I'm getting one on order from a local petshop in exchange for doing their business cards.But I won't be able to pick it out myself. I can only hope they can order what I want, a sub-adult around 10 to 12 inches.
