Egg help..ASAP!!!

idealreptiles Sep 25, 2005 08:21 PM

Hey, Need some re-assurance because I'm freaking out...well, sort of.
I have 5 clutches incubating from my pastel and het. pied, all around 40 days old( layed on 8/10 8/12, 8/15, 8/10, 9/15) and some of them are starting to get dimples/dents in them as if thhey are loosing their firmness, where before they were all looking great, large and healthy.
I have candled them and I see movement inside.......
They aren't huge dents, and it's only a few of the eggs, but I am concerned.
Since my first clutch went bad with in a few weeks except one egg, Any advice would be appreciated.
Temps look good, around 89 and humidity is great, at least, the containers had a lot of moisture but the substrate felt a little dry so I did add a little water today.
Thanks in advance!
Evan

No worries. Sounds perfectly normal to me. Especially if you are still seeing them move inside.

I wouldn't worry about it if occurs at 40 days. If it happens early on in incubation, it means that your humidity is too low and you need to add a little water to your medium. The key word here is a little!

Good Luck...

That's all I needed to hear.
Really looking forward to my first "visual," morph clutch.......
And as you can see from the female above that gave me 10 eggs, some of them are bound to be screamers!!!
I'll post pics in a few weeks..............
