How about some pure Columbians?............more

madisonrecords Sep 26, 2005 06:22 PM

If possible, I would love to see some pictures of some pure Columbian Boas; " if there is such a thing anymore. " I remember years ago, there use to be bloodlines of pure Columbians out there, that would rival alot of B.C.C and that was before the Morph Craze, ever got started. I remember, beautiful light and tan Columbians with gorgeous peach or orange sides and big bright orange tails. The old bloodlines use to have huge heads and be big and boxed off, without powerfeeding. These were gorgeous, but I do not see them anymore. Contrary to popular belief, " I have nothing against Morphs that are represented honestly, " but if some of the new generation herpers, could have seen the Columbians of old, they would probably ask themselves; " Why are we Morphing these things? " Even the Boaphile years ago, had some of these older bloodlines years ago, that were gorgeous. Ten years ago, I got a pair from him that were 100% pure and as breathtaking as ANY Boa you would ever see. Anyway, would love to see these again and if I knew were to get them, I would be tempted to have them again.......Johnson Herp

As far as I know, this girl is pure Colombian, but of course I can't be sure. This pic was taken at about age two and a half. I love my morphs, but this girl is just as beautiful to me.

That is a great looking animal and looks pretty pure to me. If you bought her as pure, then all you can do is take the guys word for it. Great example and nice and solid.......Johnson Herp

I picked up a 2005 female from John Meltzer at Daytona. She is from 25 year old parents that were wild-caught back in the day. She has a huge blocky head that you never see on Columbian babies. I'll post her as soon as I get pics. Her head is silly big for a snake so small.

Here are some pictures of my Colombian boa. She was a wild caught boa as a sub adult. So she is not related to any stock in the USA. I hope to breed her in the near future if I ever find a true male Colombian boa for her. I named her Xena and she is about 10' long now and 58 to 60lbs.

Take care
Tom
