Brooksi Morphs

fhayden1 Sep 26, 2005 08:52 PM

Hi. I've got a question in regards to Brooksi morphs. If I bred a lavender albino to a hypo what would that produce? I've got a lav albino male and I'm looking to buy a female. I want to produce snow brooksi so maybe I'll get a female albino lav het anery?

If you bred a lavender albino to a hypo then all the offspring should be normals that are doublehet for lavender albino and hypo. At least that is the way I would suspect it to go.

Here you go Frank:
if you bred hypo to Lavender all your babies would look like normals but they will all carry both the hypo and lavender traits (double hets)... when you breed the offspring back to each other you'll produce hypos, lavenders and maybe a Hybino (expressing both hypo and albino traits at the same time)

Lavender X Axanthic = double het snow

Hypo X Axanthic= double het ghost

Hypo X lavender = double het hybino

breeding your lavender male to a female lavender het axanthic would lead to all lavender babies and 50% of them will be het axanthic.

if you want to produce snow you can do it the long way... produce 2x hets breed them back to each other and hope you produce a snow.

or try getting a pair of snakes like lavenders het Axanthic or lavender (het axanthic) and Axanthic het lavender

or the very simple method... buy a snow.

2x het to 2x het snow:
Offspring are predicted to be...
4/16, Het for Snow
2/16, Axan, Het for Amel
2/16, Amelanistic, Het for Axan
2/16, Het for Axan
2/16, Het for Amel
1/16, Snow
1/16, Axan
1/16, Amelanistic
1/16, Normal

Lavender het axanthic X lavender het axanthic
2/4, Amelanistic, Het for Axan
1/4, Snow
1/4, Amelanistic

Lavender het axanthic X Axanthic het lavender
1/4, Snow
1/4, Axan, Het for Amel
1/4, Amel, Het for Axan
1/4, Het for Snow

hope that helps

Thanks for all the info. I just found out the male lav albino I just bought is a possible het snow. So maybe I'll buy a female snow or a lav alb het snow female.

What's a hybino look like?

I have no clue what the Hybino looks like... i think the 1st one was produced this yr... i'm working on a Hybino project now... it was a big secret until i found out it had already been done... hopefully i'll hatch one out next season.

for some reason i imagine a Ruby eyed Hypo when i think of a Hybino??

I had my camera and normally I take pics of EVERYTHING , Like the color of the floor if you know what I mean. I just blew it ny not taking the pic. I was busy trying to acquire the snake from the guy nand forgot all about it.

Speaking of taking pics of everything. Here is a pic of an fake sulfur lav that an unethical breeder had on his table. It looked like a califxflorida with no yellows or orange in it. Just the name on the snake (sulpher) and the $375. price tag.lol! Hope some poor european or Japanese breeder did not get taken in by it.

Now that is sad!

Brooks cross... with wrong title... and a VERY high Price!

did you question this guy about his stock just to see what he'd say?

man I'd love to see the look on his face if someone got on his case about those "Sulphur lavenders"

Here is another pic. Notice the rings that go around the body and the absence of reds and the deep yellow that give the sulfur lav their name.

The guy was someone who posted here and I had some run ins with in the past. I don't think he will be peddling any snakes for a while because I think he lost them all in Katrina.

..and no this person is NOT Tim Ricks.
