I live in southeast Louisiana,we had to evacuate for the storm,we were away from our home for a month.I had two batches of box turtle eggs in butter bowls in my laundry room .When we returned today I was very upset about the condition of my house some of the roof is missing, celings on top of the furniture, water and mold on just about everything. We started to clean up one of the bowls was lying on the ground eggs were rotten, didn't think to check the other bowl,my digital tempature gauge had a max reading of 96 degrees.I finally got around to the other bowl expecting to find some dried up eggs, when I opened the bowl ther was 1 hatchling out of it's egg and 2 little heads sticking out of the other eggs.Considering the condition of my house this was one thing that put a smile on my face.

I'm glad to hear that you had a little bit of a positive experience in the midst of the devastation.

Congratulations! I'm very sorry for what's happened to your house and what you've had to go through recently. I'm happy for you though that there is at least one ray of sunshine in the form of a shell. :-x

First -- my thoughts and prayers are with you as you recover from the disaster.....and I think I speak for much of the country when I say that.

Secondly -- wow -- amazing to see that life rises out of the debris. So -- what will you name this little miracle?

Hey dude.
I'm very sorry to hear about your house but that is really awsome that some of you turtles were ok. I hope everything works out for you.
