OK BIG TIME BREEDERS!!!

ghireptiles Sep 27, 2005 12:39 AM

Here is a question for you....there seem to be soooo many new 'morphs' coming out of Africa in the last few years, are they all spontaneously produced from 'normal' parents?

Has anybody spontaneously produced a new morph from captive breeding normals and has the morph been proven?

Please excuse my ignorance as I am just a humble sole looking for answers NOW....right now.

Single mutants would be spontaneously produced. Not combinations. The parents might or might not be normal themselves.

Mouse genetics literature is full of such instances, both from spontaneous mutations and from radiation induced mutations. See Genetic Variants and Strains of the Laboratory Mouse, by Lyons, et al.
