Something else to consider, in many cases, such as monitors, crocodilians, etc, there is little embryonic development at the time of egg laying. I think its the same for turtles and torts. I do not know about geckos.
Snakes, colubrids and pythons, have large embryos at the time of egg laying so, the sex may have already been determined.
Controling temps before egg oviposition is a new approach and makes it very attractive as a method of temperature sexing.
In my case, I promote females to choose a temperature they prefer, I give them a range to pick from, which would make controlling impossible. Again, they pick many different temps, so they may indeed be controlling the sexes. Just something to consider, thanks FR
