Two questions on new enclosures:

shadowmonkey01 Sep 27, 2005 03:01 PM

I purchased two displays from walmart previously used for guns. My first question is the floor is made of laminated press board, what will be the best way to seal it. Dont really want to rip out the floor and replace. This leads to my next question it includes 4 light fixtures in the top w/60 watt bulbs currently. I would like to add some supplementary heat on the floor, tanks are almost 7' tall dont think lights can handle all that. I just dont know what best route would be for heating floor. Dont want it to be a fire hazard. Added pic to show size if it helps, the ball python is about 4.5' long.

I am no expert by any means, but the height would better serve an arboreal species. With the multiple lights, you might get by without additional heating methods. All that vertical space would be wasted on a ball python, in my opinion. No offence intended. There are others here that could help you more than I, look specifically for Chris_Harper2. He has a wealth of knowledge.

Best regards,

Mike

I agree, that can be a awesome cage. You need to make it a aboreal cage with that much vertical room. Get yourself a jungle carpet python and put in there.
