Very nice Black Pastel but I hope you're prepared they will also drop by 3-4k by the end of this year just like Spiders, Yellow Belly's and Mojaves. Wait till next year and your going to see at least a 50% in price on Lessers, Super Pastels, Bumble Bees etc.

Have fun Boner!!!

I really dont think you know what your talking about. There is less people working with Black Pastels then the other morphs you mentioned. There is more combos that can be done with the black pastels. It has been proved that they carry a different gene than cinnys.

the other morphs you mention, Het Ivories, Mojaves have not even been fully figured out as of yet.
Het Ivories so far been linked to producing Ivories, Ebony's, Striped Het Ivories and there will be more to from them.
Mojave have been linked to producing Leucistics and that crazy Paradox SK produced and they to have dropped about 70% from just 1 year ago.
I'm not trying to bust your bubble but don't be disappointed when you see Black Pastels drop in price regardless of what they produce.
Watch and see but most of all have fun!!!!

Its a beautiful animal regardless of what the market price is.

I'm not knocking Mikes new Black Pastel it's awesome. I was just pointing out where the market is leading. Enjoy what you have and when the market does follow all the other co-doms you can sell out or hold back the babies and raise them. Just enjoy it for what it is and have fun doing whatever you choose to do!
I personally have all the morphs mentioned and paid premium prices but I'm having fun. Am I worried about the market dropping? Hell no, it's still very profitable if you do the math! Am I willing to sell low? Hell no I'll hold back everything if I feel I cannot get what is a fair price and raise it up for future breeders and use them for combos. I'm not worried about it all because I'm in it for the long haul.

Have fun!!!

"I'm not worried about it all because I'm in it for the long haul."

Exactly! There is no fast track.

...and yeah,i am a new guy(of only 2 years now)...but it took me two(previous)years of reading/market following to "get involved"

Welcome to the club. I'm not very new to this and in fact I'm an old timer myself. Don't fear the market and those of you that are fearful and worried will get ahead of the game if you hang tight.
Geez I wish I tapped this market when Albino's started pipping...That was my BIG mistake.

Is anyone having fun yet?

Mega congrats Mike and who cares if the price drops some or not, he's still beautiful. Since you brought it up answering the other guy, what are the differences between black pastel and cinny's, is the super form still black?

I believe the super form of the black pastel is a darker color (dark brown/black) than the super form of the cinnamon (brown). I would assume this is more noticeable as the animal grows up. I've also been told that the pewters of the black pastel are a little darker colored than the pewters of the cinnamon.

Another big difference is the silver bullet is produced from the black pastel pewter line and not the cinny.
