why slugs 2005 but babies 2004

phelsuma Sep 27, 2005 10:02 PM

My adult 3 year old plus 348g 25" Kenyan (she was left on a doorstep as an adult) had beautiful babies in 2004, but this year laid all slugs. Everything was virtually the same as last year including the same male. All the Kenyans are kept in a building temperature controlled with air temp @ 85-87 F and heating pads averaging 95-100 F. All the rest of my Kenyans delivered without a problem. Any ideas what may have happened? This is only my second year breeding the Kenyans.

Slugs are unfertilized eggs. So what probably happened is her just didn't do the deed at the right time. She's probably fine. Is the male doing well? If so, then it was just bad timing. It happens.

My male is acting and eating just fine. My female is not as an aggressive eater as she used to be. But, she seems calmer now. So, I guess they just didn't do anything this year. Thanks for your help
