I have posted before about this problem I am having with my 2 beardies and you gave me good advice. I still need help. Before all my beardies was eating was crickets and mealworms. I wanted to give them the salads you guys suggested from beautifuldragons.com. I did what you suggested and they wont have nothing to do with it. The male would get up in the morning and maybe take one or two bites of the lettuce but that is it. If they eat the blueberries I have to take the blueberry and take it to them for them to eat. I tried putting meal worms in there but they eat only the mealworms. I dont know what else to do? Why are they being so finicky?? They know the food is there. I am getting frustrated. I need help. Thank you for your responses.

Im not sure of the age of my beardies. Young but not babies. Maybe 2,3 maybe 4 months old.

try chopping the greens very finely, then drop superworms or silkworms into it, give them a chance to work down to the bottom. This way the greens move with the movement of the worms and the dragons inadvertantly get some greens with their worms. Keep using a variety of greens, like collard greens, dandelion greens, endive, escaroli and other dark leafy greens (except spinach, iceberg lettice. Romaine and Kale can be offered sparringly).

Give them time, they will eventually figure out that the greens are good to eat.

Thank you for your response. I have done that and the little smarties eat the worms only. The male beardie will eat a bit of the variety of lettuces but that is only about one or two bites and that is it. I have put pellets in there and such. I guess I will have to wait and hopefully they will catch on. Its sad cause they could be eating great!

Maybe I am cutting up everything wrong? I cut it into bite size pieces. Is that correct?

I would chop them up very fine, about quarter inch squares. Smaller than bite size for your bearded dragons. Mist the green slightly this way the little pieces stick on everything. So even if they pick out the insects, some greens will be stuck on the insects.

I wash the lettuce before I cut, but I will mist them again and then put the worms in and see how that works. Thank you for responding!
