Trans Pecos copperheads breeding

AlexNevgloski Sep 28, 2005 11:13 AM

It's that time of year again. I usually put my Trans Pecos copperheads together when the weather cools to get some early breeding. Two of the 3 pairs bred yesterday, with one pair (pictured) locking-up for over 12 hours. This is considerably longer than what I have seen in the past.

The same pairs will be reintroduced in the Spring at which time breeding should occur again.

Nice photo and hope you can provide pics of the babies in time. Seems like they got away from each other as much as possible despite breeding one another.
