Another one.
Proposed ordinance definitions:
Domestic animal means any of Various animals, such as horses, sheep, cattle, goats, hogs, poultry, ferrets, Llamas, Emus, etc., domesticated by man so as to live and breed in a tame condition.
Non domestic Animal means any carnivore, primate, reptile, bird, or other venomous animal regardless if it is indigenous or not indigenous to the state and not included in the definition of domestic animal and shall include any hybrid animal.
Sec. 4-8. Non domestic Animals; Prohibited.
(a) No person shall possess or harbor any non domestic animal that is dangerous to persons or property or which has the potential of being dangerous to persons or property. This section, shall not apply to bona fide circuses, petting zoos, and other traveling commercial animal exhibitions of limited duration.
(b) No person shall possess a wolf or wolf hybrid.
This is a really screwed up ordinance.
I’m attaching our first letter to the commissioners – rest assured we will be writing many more.
Commissioners meet again on October 3; still have not set a public hearing date.
You can email the clerk to the board and she will distribute your letter.
