This evening, we had our 2 year old male out for some social time. As usual, he pooped within minutes of being out, but after he finished my husband said he pushed out some blood...or at least it looked like blood. Any ideas? I don't think we have access to a herp vet locally, I'd probably have to head into Sacramento if need be. Thought I'd ask here first.

did the "blood" actually come out and stay out? like on the poop?
if not you may have just seen part of the hemipenes come out and retract.

No it actually came out onto a napkin, it was watery like blood, but a little lighter. I know what you are talking about, I've seen that before. This was definitely different.
