Boa in water

I was wondering if there was anyone else out there that has a red tail that sits in there water all the time.My female sits in her water all the time but my male never goes in his and I was just wondering if anyone elses snake does this.

It could be due to mites. I had a new hatcling boa that was always in her water. She had mites and I found them in the water. They looked like pepper in the water. Luckily I had her quarintined and they did not spread to my other boas & pythons. I used a pest strip and thorougly cleaned its cage and haven't seen any since and that was four months ago.
It could be that your temps & humidty are off or that she doesn't feel secure in her other hiding spots.
Or you could just have a boa that likes to soak. I had one that liked to soak a lot. I tried several different hides and checked the temps & humidity. She just liked water and it didn't do her any harm.

I have a small dish of water in my boa's home, maybe a foot by 8 inches large. I rarely see her drinking, let alone trying to sit in it. Should I give her more water space? Do boas enjoy soaking n a regular basis?
