Fire hazard?

dragunzfyre Sep 29, 2005 01:56 AM

I just put my screen top on my gecko's new aquarium this past weekend and have a concern about heating. For the screening, i used regular fiberglass screening like the kind they use to put on outdoor screen doors and other things. If I use a heat lamp when the room gets a little colder in winter, would this be a fire hazard? I have a Giant Day Gecko so it'd need to be in the 80's. The front half is made of glass but this wouldn't seem to work either. Any tips on what to do?

i would imagine for the fiberglass screen to burn it would have to get to atleast 200 degrees F before it would catch fire.
only trouble i've ever had with fiberglass screen was crickets chewing out.
