I've got a ton of and would much rather use it then newspaper for babies. I'm worried of them ingesting it though. I do feed them on small plate but still wondering if it would be a problem. Thanks for the help.

Hi,
Just got a 50 Lb. Baby sulcata and it was recommeded to me to only use timothy hay or alfalfa hay.
I would be worried using wood chips of any kind for fear of impaction.
What I have planned right now for his temporary house is to put alfalfa hay (which is cheaper to buy) in about 3-5" depth in order to absorb urine, poop or water spills and give him timothy hay in a big bin for him to much on.
Either hay is safe for him to eat and you wont have to worry about impaction.
This is my first tort and I love him to peices. He's awesome and his name is speedy. He should have been named bull dozer.
How big is your sulcata????
I have an earlier post near the top with links to pic's of speedy if your interested.
Good luck
bob
