Male Collared "coughing & sneezing"

cmmw63 Sep 29, 2005 08:46 PM

Our male collared lizard seems to be "coughing and sneezing." There is no discharge from his nose and looks OK. He is wild caught but we have had him over a year without any health issues. He has mated with our female and she is currently ready to lay here second clutch of eggs. Neither has ever hibernated yet.

Any thoughts, advice, experience?

Chris

whenever you hear coughing sneezing, any popping sounds when they breath it's time to have them looked at by a Vet. Better safe than sorry if it's a respiratory/ bacterial infection you will need antibiotics, may give him baytril if they find him to be sick.

Thats about all I said, if it were something non- threatning we all would give you some sort of advice on what to do, but I don't mess with the coughing and more serious symptoms.

Let us know how he does. Hope it clears up whatever it is.
