Need help picking a lizard

LAF77 Sep 29, 2005 08:54 PM

I am looking to get an australian water dragon but am worried that my workload isn't compatible with one. I work 10-12 hours a day so I would only be able to take care of it in the early morning and weekends really. I am looking for a lizard with an interesting habitat, varied diet, and that can be tamed, and I would love the AWD. Can I maintain one with my schedule or can is there anything else out there for me?

Thanks

Granted, I have a Chinese Water Dragon, but since their demands are similar I will attempt to answer this question for you.
I would say no if you were getting a baby. They are much more demanding and need much more time and attention.
If you were getting a healthy well raised adult, then I would say you would be fine. I have a 4 yr old dragon and he does fine long periods alone. I have his lights on a timer and he only eats a couple of times a week.
