Hey!

I won't be at the show until tomorrow, but I'm sure it's great! Also, I got my little baby when I went with my mom to PetCo (I had to have her, she's just adorable!), geez they treat them horribly... Anyway, she was super thirsty when I got her home, poor thing. Enough said! Enjoy!!

P.s- I named her, "Rain". :D

Congrats on the albino baby! It's just beautiful! It's sad how some stores treat their animals terribly . Best of luck with the new lil baby! n/p

Thanks! I know... there was one more Albino baby I felt SO bad for... It was trying to shed and it couldn't get the skin off of it's face, tail and toes. And we all know PetCo doesn't use moist hides. **Sigh** Not to mention how skinny their Leo's are. Ah well, I'm done ragging, lol. Thanks again!

I work at PetCo and we do offer moist hides, dry hides, carpet for the babies, and against PetCo P&P, I do NOT have bowls of mealies full at all times. In fact for the babies, I don't even offer mealies unless the mealies have just shed. Our animals are fat. There are some animals that are very thin or mite covered when we receive them but I and an employee I am training pull them to the back for proper treatment. However, internal parasites cans till be a problem if the tanks become to over crowded, but at least I am aware of what to look for.
But, I do have to agree that most PetCos do not know proper set up or care, or if they do know it they can't impliment it becasue it's against PetCo P&P (regs).
But, as long as I have something to say about it, I will see that our store continues to care for their animals correctly.
Peace.

I too work at Petco and my reptiles also look very, very good. People need not judge all of these stores because of the ones they have seen that do treat the animals poorly or simply dont follow our policys... I've actually got customers that choose my reptiles over the animals from a near by reptile shop... Although the overcrowding is often a problem, there is little to Nothing we can do about this, we order the animals we need, NOT the many animals that are shipped without our notice (until its too late) to fill in for upcoming ads or sales... I'm very happy to be part of a well established and highly respectable Petco store, and truly do hope that the other stores soon follow in the footsteps of the successful ones... Just my two sense...

I agree with you also ragnew and laura people on these forums tend to put down all pet stores not all are bad and there are some that really take good care of the animals that they have.

Hey,

Well, that's awesome that you care for them like that at YOUR PetCO, but unfortunately the majority of them just simply don't care.
