Hey all, what do you keep the ambient temp of your corn enclosure at? cool side, warm side? I'm curious what everyone has to say.

I keep mine around 86 de warm side, and 75 the cool one, at nitght can drop until 70 degrees

At risk of becoming the corn forum's pariah, I'll say I don't pay that much attention. There's a guy who posts on the king snake forum who is apparently old, and has been herping for a long time -- he posts under the name FR -- and people over there act like he's some kind of guru. Whether he's a guru or not, he says interesting things, and once I read a post of his in which he claimed that snakes will do perfectly well at room temperature. I've always been really nervous that my lights would catch fire when I wasn't home, so I tried it, and it turns out he's right -- mine do perfectly fine at room temp. I usually heat them up to 80 or so after they've eaten, and until they evacuate, just for safety's sake, but then the lights go out again, and they are fine. Of course, I live up north, so when it gets cold the lights will have to be on every day, but for now, and for this whole summer ever since I read that post, my snakes have been fine at room temp.

I also keep my corns at roomn temperature all the time (72 F) with a heat pad on one side wihich raises the surface temp but not ambient temp up to about 883 F
