banana peel

tegulevi Sep 30, 2005 10:23 AM

i have always heard that the peel has the most vitamins in it. and in the wild i would think that they eat them peel and all.

has anyone ever tried this, and what do you think about it?

i've tried. what i do is i slice the banana up with the skin still on it. sometimes my iguanas eat it and so do my box turtles but i don't really find that my tegus are that crazy about it. sometimes i mashed bananas up without the skin and mix it in with my sdz, but when the bana in the sdz gets old it turns it all black like rotten bananas. so with my tegus i usually just forget about the bananas all together.

fred eats banannas whole, peel and all. So does Ethyl... but then again they eat anything. The others get the bananas cut up with the peal. Most will eat it no prob.
