ig got picky.....tell me it's just a phase.

Oscar has decided that she doesnt like her leafy greans anymore, or anything green for that matter. She will only eat food with an orange or yellow color to it. Is it possible that she is just tired of collard, endive and mustard? What other greens could i give her to get her over this? I doubt it has anything to do with this specific batch of greens b/c my other ig is eating them rather greedily.
Please tell me that other iggies do this crap too.
thanks.

Try just plain old Collards for a few days with only a small portion of toppings. See if she'll eat that and then try mixing in other greens after awhile. Mine will not eat turnip or mustard greens if they are more than a day or two old. They get that smell to them and I guess my igs are spoiled. JN

yep, that's exactly what i have been doing for the past week. she has maybe been eating a few bites here and there of the greens, but she normally scarfs everything down. today, she only had collard greens available. maybe the whole batch smells funny, and the other iggy just doesnt care.

thanks.

I guess the thing to do would be to keep varying the diet then. Eventually she'll come around. Could she be gravid by any chance? My girl only ate bits and pieces when she was gravid. JN

back in january or febuary, oscar laid about 50 eggs. is it possible for her to have another clutch? she is also pooing in smaller quantities, but that is to be exspected if she is eating less.
today i tried soaking the greens in some water that i had thawed out some berries in, just to get a different smell on them, but alas, she didnt fall for it. she ate everything else on her plate; blue berries(the berries are a "once in a blue moon" treat), razzberries, apple, mango, butternut squash, black berries and grapes, but she didnt touch the leaves or the green beans. the other iggy got the same salad, and ate everything on her plate.
this is getting anoying.

Have you tried just offering her greens alone for awhile? If she's scarfing up the treats she might just be getting spoiled. *teehee* JN
