I plan on purchasing several of these beuaties in the near future and I was wondering what is the consensus on teh best way to heat their enclosures. I figure belly heat wouldn't be the best since they are rarely/never on the ground. Which seems to leave either heat lamps or ceramic heat emmiters. Just trying to get ahead of the game so when I build my enclosures I can get them right. Thanks in advance to any that reply, Todd

Heat panels mounted to the ceiling of the cages is usually considered the best way to heat a gtp enclosure.

The cost of a heat panel is about double that of a good ceramic bulb, but they will last virtually forever and are quite economical in the long run. The panels don't kill the humidity in the cages nearly as much as the ceramic bulbs either.

Hmm... carefully set up though, a ceramic bulb on thermostat with attention to humidity can also be successful. Panels are just strong preference for me because they make keeping these guys so much easier.

I use a ceramic heat emitter. It's works very well coupled with a good proportional thermostat, although as pointed out, it can dry the air more than the panels. By misting twice a day (most thoroughly at night when she's active) I've been able to keep the humidity at a decent level.
