I see a seller named KeithC sells tortoises on Kingsnake Classifieds. I am looking for references for him to see if he is a good guy to buy from. Thanks for your time.

I cannot comment on this seller. I have never dealt with him/her.

The following things make me wary when considering purchasing a tortoise (I breed mostly stars):

-Different sub-species with different market values being sold at the same price (eg, sri lankans and indians).

-Inexpensive (read: below market value) prices, and sellers in general who make a point to claim how cheap or inexpensive their animals are.

-People with a number of sub-adult animals, and no documentation of their hatching/development.

Not having a history of selling isn't necessarily indicative of problems, but it requires extra scrutiny.

Just be careful.

I actually did a trade with him back in June of this year. My Husband saw his set-ups at home and said that they look very good.

Keith is more into trades than anything else, so most of his animals were someone elses.

The little redfoot that I got from him has been great. No health problems to speak of or anything like that.

Just thought I would throw in my opinion.

I actually made a deal with KeithC a little after I posted this topic and there had been no responses yet.

I bought a CB star tortoises from him. He was quick to email me back and even though his Emails were short (just a few words) he did pull though for me. He was fast to ship the tortoise and I had it Tuesday after I bought it on Saturday from him.
