A Week in Review .....

toshamc Sep 30, 2005 06:08 PM

1. There is just waaaaaay too much discussion about the financial aspects of this hobby. The sky is falling, will the market hold, whats the best investment morph to buy if I want to be rich by next spring, how many snakes should I get, why can't I sell any of my snakes, why is everyone sending me hate mail because I had to drop the price of my snakes $1K so that I could make the mortgage/credit card bill. etc. etc. I never thought I'd say this but lets get back to the debate over live vs. frozen thawed! Lets make a deal and spend one week with no discussion on the financial aspect of this hobby and focus on what really counts!

2. Roussis Reptiles hatched out the pastel pied awesome snake congrats to them!

3. Typos in the ads? Or is it a deliberatly misleading technique? I'm not !00% sure.

4. Could he/she be a (insert name of morph here)? Always one of my favoites!

5. Lots of cool pastel picts this week - way to promote!!!! My personal favorite for this week (as far as plain ole pastels goes) and when did it become such a bad thing to have a "plain ole pastel"?: Big Boy Brutus

6. When Corey Woods gets bored he pulls out a million dollars worth of snakes and starts taking "comparison shots". When I get bored I grab a pint of Ben and Jerrys and watch soaps. One of us needs a hobby!

7. Sometimes we forget the reason behind it all!

8. Can anyone please tell us really what the deal is with Harelquins!!!!! Anyone? Anyone?

9. We bid a farewell to Chris Bianco as he's decided to take his ball and play on another field - the corn field - I guess it's true: if you build it they will come.

9b. We welcomed back Dr. Scott!!!! I personally have missed having him about!

10. I unvieled my new drinking project which even RDR thought would be a sweet project!

11. Speaking of RDR - boy did he kick up a dust ball here - LOL - not a single mention of his journal entry over on his board hmmm - it's friday maybe we'll see some more action as the hangovers wear off. I'll leave the discussion on this moster to the general discussion area - I'm guessing it'll stir up 2 pages worth of debate! Personally I was just surprised to hear that 1. He actually liked the Gene Simmons show and 2. Oh my god he watches Surface and I watch surface and it's like we are watching it together and we both like ball pythons and that means that I am like RDR!

12. Special thanks to Andrea for the list of hats worn by BP breeders:

Did you know that snakes can't wear hats cause they don't have ears?

13. No one's husband bought them a cool snake this week!!!! I'm starting to feel better about mine!

And that is a week in review!

So you know what that means - PARTY TIME!!!!!

Thanks for another great review!
I wish it was party time! I've got to go to my second job, so I can support my new habit!
Going to Pechanga this weekend, maybe I'll win enough to buy one of those million dollar morphs.
Have a great weekend,
Ken

First I admittedly made a mistake and accidently left out Jared's lemon blast post - sorry Jared - Awesome snake!!!!

Also my computer produced major brain fart when I pasted a pitures URL into #5 it pasted in the wrong place and when I moved them I guess I forgot to hit the paste button the pictures and second half of #5 didn't make the list.

The rest of #5 should read:

We also saw a lot of great looking snakes posted that no one bothered to ask if they were a new morph - to those people I say thank you and you have very nice looking normals (LOL). Here are some of my favorites.

And thanks to everyone whos pictures I've used!!!

Have a great weekend!

speaking for myself, when i bought my ball python i went looking for a normal, yes i have asked morph questions on here, like what a granite is.... and i have asked questions about "flames" in order to learn something you have to ask questions.......
but it seems you have to know how to word your questions for them to be addressed........
i have a normal i am one just trying to learn the morphs....im pretty sure there are others here trying to learn as well.

toshamc Sep 30, 2005 08:26 PM

You are right - there is nothing wrong with trying to learn about the different morphs, features, etc. for the longest time there were litterally hundreds of "is this a ...."" posts and it kind of became a running joke. If I've taken it too far and offended anyone with it - I apologize.

With the introduction of the hunters guide we've seen a lot less of these posts for which I guess we can be thankful - but I'm starting to think since we don't get so many of them we're stuck debating the market - LOL.

By the way does anyone remember that guy sparkey that claimed to have the $30 Fire he bought at some show? You know the guy that even when Mike told him that it wasn't a fire he told Mike he didn't know what he was talking about. I laugh still thinking of that. I thought he had a bunch of eggs in the incubator and we'd all be eating crow by now - anyone know what happened to him? Haven't seen this magnificent clutch of Fires has anyone else?

Aw the usless stuff I store away in my mind.

the hunters guide is a good learning tool. sometimes i think someone needs to have a class on the morphs.
the other thing i am trying to learn is the patterns.... i see normal ball pythons with i guess you could say different patterns .

Where the hell have I been?
Sleeping, lost, and numb.
So glad that I have found you.
I am wide awake and heading home.

I actually prefer the patterning of the smaller to than hers. But with my shots, it's hard to see the pattern anyways!
