I'm not sure what tegu's like to eat, but I do remember some foods that I fed my green iguanas before I gave them to a friend. Their diet consisted of like 80% Collard greens(I believe they were very high in calcium) and dandilion greens, 10% Veggies like squash and zucchini, 8% fruit like apples and kiwi(my iguanas loved watermelon which I gave them as treats in the summer), and the last 2% was treats or special iguana food. I never fed my iguanas bananas that much because I was told by many people it contained a lot of phosphorus and a lot of it is bad for them. So far I've tried giving my little tegu some apple. He didn't eat it but licked it a lot of times. He seemed interested in it but unsure about it. I'll try to buy some more fruits sometime soon and try.
I've been mixing in grapes, honeydew, and canteloupe in with my tegu's turkey, and she does not seem to mind eating them. My old tegu used to like bananas and would eat them without me having to mix them with meat. I'm planning on trying kiwi, papaya, and starfruit as soon as I get the chance to.
Anyways, I'd also like to know what other fruits I could offer to my tegu.
