black collared shedding white

Hypo melanistic bicinctores (an albino black collared ???)
This little male hatchling is a month old today. To my surprise while I was checking measurements on the baja blue rock lizard hatchlings that he's in with, I see this white tail. Anyone ever see a bicinctores shed to a bright white before? I figured he'd shed soon as the lighter transparency was obvious that the coming shed was near.
Hey Eve, but the time you get him next week, he may be totally white!

until he arrives, :0) As far as his shed being white, My C. vestigium yearling Chippewa sheds white, his head gets white, Kong also sheds so white looks like hes wearing a white mask, CRAZY looking.

But they are my only 2 that shed white.

I was so sure I had a rare phenomena here ... LOL!
Never had a lizard shed so white before. I'll try to get another pic later this weekend and see what the rest of him sheds like.

Yes she's really a light phase alright. Very nice group you have there.
Here's another pic of the little bicinctores who's hanging out with a couple of his baja blue rock buddies as they're slowly edging their way toward the basking site when I took the shot early this morning.

There is also a P. repens bred in Europe which is a more hardy lizard and as beautiful. Go to petrosaurus.de Tom

These are Petrosaurus thalassinus. Presently illegal to collect. Main distribution is in the San Lucan Island off the Baja Calif coast. They are the most colorful of the petrosaurus sub species. I've been working with these for almost six years now. I've produced clutches from these somewhat rare lizards for five consecutive seasons. I'm still trying to fill waiting lists for cb hatchlings for the last couple of years.

On the first post showing the little bicinctores, I'm afraid I accidently delete the pic from that post. I was cleaning out some of my older pics from my pet hobbyist account and deleted that pic by mistake so that's why you're not seeing the pic on that first post anymore ... sorry.

The little bicinctores is taking his sweet time with this shed. I gave him a nice warm soak and a light brushing with a soft tooth brush. This should speed things up in the next few days. If he doesn't continue or finish the shed by the time you get him Eve, I want to see a pic of the finished product so to speak ... lol.

He's a month and two days old today and is really trying to stay awake for this pose. I had to shoot quickly in order to catch him with his little eyes even half opened ... or is that half closed

That's a quarter next to him.

I'm sure after I recieve him you will get to see many, many pics of him, Don't give that a second thought, He's a cute lil guy for sure.

I think the lovely Zia will find him quite attractive when he matures into a FINE gentleman caller, LOL
