My 2005 holbacks......(pics)

jlassiter Oct 01, 2005 12:56 AM

I was not going to holback three this year, but for now I am. In 2001, 2002 and 2003 I was REAL bad...I held sometimes held back 4.4 but eventually sold them off and kept 1.2 from each year except last year.....Last year I only held back one female....A keyholed light colored leonis......This is what I decided on this year.....

This one was fathered by "Big Yeller" (produced by Evan Stahl). His mother was a Vivid MSP. Both from David Weymouth.

This male is the result of "Big Yeller" and an outstanding Dan Vermilya orange leonis female....also from David Weymouth

And my female from the same pairing..."Big Yeller" and Dan V. orange leonis.....

So.....are these good choices guys????
Now let's see some others' holbacks from this year.....

Those are all nice! I have already posted mine but want to keep/buy/trade more. Just trying to figure out where I would put them is my biggest issue.

These 2 are my holdbacks for now. I may still only keep one but I like both of these girls.

John those three of yours are all excellent. I especially like that 1st MSP.

Rick it looks like you like a little orange in your orange, LOL

Look who's talking about orange! I have a fadded white one I like too.

vichris Oct 02, 2005 04:46 PM

LOL Your right Rick. I think we all have a little weakness for orange. I actually wanted that orange leonis I got from the Bodner's because of the reduced black though. I'm hoping to use him as a breeder in 2007.

Oh well, as long as YOU are happy!

vichris Oct 02, 2005 04:41 PM

Thanks Mike,

The Bodner's are known for their "ugly" thayeri. LOL

Here's another one of their "ugly" thayeri.

Is that trio still feeding well for you Mike?

Nice orange leonis thayeri Rick......Looks like a few I produced in 2002 but even better.....LOL
I saw them in an earlier post....I just wanted to know if all your decisions were made just yet......IF you know what I mean.....If I could keep them all I would......LOL

Again...Nice thayeri Rick,

Hey John,
I love Thayeri. I read EVERY posting here and love to see all the variability of these magnificent serpents. I have always preferred Leonis over MSP.... until I saw your photos here. Those are such exceptional MSP's, I'd go for either. Great animals. You turn out many good serpents. Way to go.

Thanks a bunch Paul....
I too like Leonis phase over MSPs due to being more variable, but some MSPs are down right outstanding.
I still like Chris Garcia's "sharktooth" one the best and its sibling the "wishbone" one...who has that one?

Man....I can't wait until next year....How about you guys?????
