Hey, I have had this agamid lizard for a few months...recently a part of his tail turned purple and fell off. Now another two thirds are turning the same way, bulging and bloody. Anyone know whats happening to him? Thanx

It sounds like he has gangrene or some other nasty infection, and if you don't take him to a vet and get the whole thing removed professionally, he's probably going to die. In fact, I hope it's not too late.
I already have taken him to the vet. Where I live we don't have any vets who know much about reptiles. He told me to hold onto his tail and hope that he would pull it off himself! He had no idea what was wrong with the lizard and didnt offer me any other suggestions. Is there any creams or medications out there I can put on his tail??
Wow... that sucks... Guy must have gotten his license in a Cracker Jack box, as my mom would say. Neosporin I guess. Lots of it. Hopefully the bad bit will fall off again and then it will heal up.
