Crested Gecko setup

AFTfanatic Oct 01, 2005 05:28 PM

Hi, I'm brand new to Crested Geckos and could use some help. I've recently found a breeding facility nearby with multiple healthy and happy Cresties in stock. I currently have a ten gallon tank with a sphagnum and orchid bark substrate, water dish, tubberware hide box, and lots of climbing branches and two fake plants. My room is kept in the high 70's to low 80's, so I was told I didn't need a heat source. Is there anything I can improve on? Thanx a bunch!

i would completely go through the cage, change substrate and clean everything else if you were keeping something else in it prior to the crested.
other than that it sounds okay for 1 gecko, i wouldn't keep more than 1 in a 10 gallon unless they're juvies. i prefer eco-earth or bed-a-beast for the substrate as well. i wouldn't use any mulch or barky type material.
