I see all this beautiful pictures or other peoples clutches I personally have breed my corns, yet. Maybe next year.I was wondering if it is at all typical to get such a variation on coloring. Do I need to have parents that are multipule hets. or what. I see clutches w/ corns that look normal that have siblings that are albino, some that are snow and some that are more like anery's all in the same clutch. I want to get a little variation, not a ton of hets. that look normal, any advice, suggestions appreciated.

Yes, it does depend on what the parents are het for.

Do you know the genetic background of the snakes you have? Let us know what you have and we can tell you what you would get if you breed them.

We can also give you some suggestions on what other type of snakes would be good to pair up with your current snakes.

If you know what you specifically would want out of the babies, we might be able to help you there too.

I tried to download the program from cornutopia where you can predict the offspring but it won't run on my machine. Anyways you wanted to know what I have. I have 1 normal, one snow, one crimson, all males. I have 1 ghost, one jungle, and one yellow all females, and one albino probably male. Any good pairings that you can see? P.s. I bought a book today "the corn snake manual" by Bill & Kathy Love it looks pretty helpful, just hafto take some notes I guess.

One very well known reputable breeder refers to a group of his hatchlings as Genetic Milkshake. They've got the genes for a variety of morphs. These can be really exciting to work with. When the eggs hatch, it's like Christmas, a real surprise. I used to breed thayeri just for this reason. I never knew what color phase I would get until the eggs hatched.
There is a real downside to this also and it should be considered if you decide to work with multi het corns. If you produce 1 real unique hatchling that just really hits you as something you want more of, good luck. It can be very difficult, even impossible to reproduce more that look the same. Whether you breed siblings to each other or cross the hatchling back to a parent, you may not be able to reproduce a match.
There's an easy solution, work with both types of stock, multi hets and breeders with a known background.
