That would be a Coral Snow (Hypo Amel Anery)

I thought amel masked hypo. According to the calculators, it would be a regular snow, het hypo.

Thats kind of what I was thinking too. If an amel means no black, and hypo is a faded black, how can a snake be both amel and hypo? I'm confused, could somebody explain this to me?

It is simple: the names don't seem to correctly define the actual biochemical effects that are occuring.

Hypomelanism seems to not only decrease the amount of black, but to also INCREASE the pink undertones. I doubt if this is a true erythrin pigmentation effect, but SOMETHING is definitely happening in at least SOME lines and/or cases. I don't know if ALL hypo snows result in the pink snows, but some do, and from those the offfspring are predictably pink.

There is also sexual dimorphism in coloration due to the hypo genes. Heck, you can sex an adult ghost corn from across the room based on coloration alone!

Ah, i gotcha. the hypo would intensify the pinks in the amel. If black were present, then it would be faded or reduced, but thats obviously not the case in amels. Am I right? Thanks for the explaination!

Bingo! That SEEMS to be exactly what is going on.

This is true with the standard hypo genes, I've been lead to believe, but I am not sure what the "newer" lines (Sunkissed, Lava, Ultra, etc.) would do to a snow. i would ASSUME the same thing or just look like a normal snow. I'm not sure anyone will KNOW until it is tried.

Personally, all the dang hypos are so similar to me, that I'll concentrate with one and leave the other lines to someone else.

A Snow is Amel Anery. And you can have an Amel with a het for Anery.

And that's before you even start in on Anery B and C.

Have I understood the question properly?
