Boiga cynodon. ****pictures***

jelmer Oct 01, 2005 09:07 PM

Here are some pictures of my specimen of Boiga cynodon
She is really huge. The biggest ever meassured is said to be 2.77 meters and the skin of this animal after the last shed was almost 3 meters long.
So I hope it's a female, I want to find that out soon.

The first 2 pictures are taken by myself and the last picture is an old one taken by the formal owner, who is a good friend of mine.

Regards

Jelmer

Does yours eat rodents?

No she doesn't I feed her mainly on young chickens (chicks?), and sometimes living birds.

It has been tried many times (in many different ways) to let this specimen eat rodents, but it was never succesfull.

Though I will keep on trying.

Try scenting a rodent with chicken broth soup. I froze a can of that stuff and leave it out for a few minutes to defrost and then dip or rub a rat pup in the broth/soup and my dog-tooth cat snake goes after them but would otherwise never touch a rodent and wants birds.
