baby ig with little bumps and spots that will not shed....

devious_angel75 Oct 01, 2005 09:55 PM

we have two ig's...one is around two yrs old ...the other only about 5 months old...the little one has little white bumps all over his body...and three spots that are darker and seem to want to shed around them but not over them....we got him at a pet store about a month ago and thought that after he was bathed regularly and taken care of properly the problem would start to correct itself...but it has not...anyone have any suggestions?

I had two iglets come to me that had been housed with other iglets. One of the iglets had the same thing and they look just like little tiny tooth marks which is probably the case with yours. Make sure the other one is not biting this one and if he is they will need to be separated. If you think it's something other than that, I'd say a vet visit is in order. Good luck. JN

Correction...the bites probably came from the petstore igs, not the two year old. You'd know it if that were the case! I'm sorry for not reading the post closely. JN

these are not bite marks...they are little white bumps...they are not housed together...the larger one doesn't even use a cage...she spends most of her time on top of my monitor where it is nice and warm....

Hmmmm....well, I'd probably see about getting her to a vet. You will probably want to anyway since she is a new baby and might need a fecal check, etc. Is she acting normal? Eating, pooping? JN

yes...acting normal...eating very well, pooping regularly....still in the taming process so snappin the tail, opening mouth like wants to bite...etc...

That's a good sign. Well, I wish you the best of luck with him/her. JN
