This is female 2, she was a case of MBD her back legs where paralysed entirely and was moving with the use of forearms only. NO special light bulbs was use in her recovery, no mineral or calcium supplements was use in her recovery. She is now completely healed and has regained full use of her back legs, it’s a pleasure to see her run around her cage.

this female was my worst case, she showed blood in her stool, refused all food and became a dieing skeleton, she was loaded with parasites, at one point I was sure she was dead.
However one day I saw her attempt to grab a cricket thrown in her cage by accident, therefore I started feeding her crickets and grasshoppers from my yard, she is now feeding on various plants but still wants insect, I will keep feeding her insect as long as she wants them, she gained weight and shows no sing of parasitism, her stools look normal. No drugs or any other special treatment was applied on her, and she was kept with fem-2 and green male with no special precautions.

She makes my day every time I see her eat some greens in between the insects I offer her, I have no more fear for her health.

photo taken this morning along with the other above, only one application of met-blue was needed to completely stop blister progression, no other special care was given to this female, she was kept with blue male and other female continuously, in the same cage. My uromastyx cages are high humidity by uromastyx standards 60-80%, this high humidity has nothing to do with blister and has no negative affect on healing, to the contrary it keeps the skin hydrated and promotes healing. In time the blue coloration will fade away and the scabs will fall off, allowing new scales to grow. I see no reason to be preoccupied with this female any more.

One last note; a patch of scales skin is a torture zone on any sun loving lizard, do not allow them to bask at regular temps or in natural sun before they grow new scales. Scales in uromastyx are designed to absorb heat or deflect sun raise, scale less skin has no such properties and can only burn when exposed to high energy source.
hope this helps!
