$Ball Python 'values' $

avdnco Oct 02, 2005 06:55 AM

.... so when does the average enthusiast start evaluating every purchase in "ballpython dollars"
I went to lease a new SUV yesterday and was surprised at all the options I considered passing on that I normally wouldn't have blinked at-
Sun roof= 0.1 orange ghost
leather sport package= 0.1 cinnamon pastel
step rail= 1.1 het albino
engine = carmel albino

Come to think of it , I could use a little more excercise.... maybe I should just walk everywhere and buy something from Ralph!!!

LOL!

is the sunroof equal to a female ghost? Sounds like a rip-off to me, or are you saying the market is crashing and that's all girly ghosts are worth? OH No, SELL SELL SELL. Lol anyways for most applications a sunroof is only about a 500 dollar upgrade, give or take.

Sun/moonroofs these days cost more like $1800............at least on hondas.

especially considering you can go to an aftermarket shop and get it done for about 8 or 900 dollars. You'd be better off buying the car without one and getting it done somewhere else.

never, those things are just bad. The car is not reinforced like it should be. It will also leak most of the time. Extra money at the dealer is worth it in this case.

When you evaluate your life considering what kind of morph you could get it's crazy :D

Sorry Honey, no gift for you this year, I bought a xxxx ball python instead ! lol

Maybe in high end cars there are "reinforcements done to the car, but many less expensive makes have anything special. I come from a family of car dealers(not salesman), which is the source of my information. A reptuable shop can install a sunroof to the same standards as any dealer, that being said a shop located in a flea market or someones garage is likely to do sloppy work. I drive a saturn sc2 with a targa top. Now that's a lot more work than a sunroof, and a lot more can go wrong. The modification was done before I bought the car, but I must say that there are 0 leaks and no body twist. It's not always bad to go to an aftermarket shop, so long as the resale value drop doesn't bother you.

But I was more interested in getting Ball pythons than a sunroof
either as a pre or after sale option... think there must be an automotive forum out there somewhere...LOL

Hate to break it to you but anytime that a car is altered from its stock condition it may not need reinforcements added to the frame but it does affect the overall structural soundness of it. Many years ago I found out all too much about those problems lifting my CJ-5 Jeep. And after time erased some of the memory of my headaches I ran into it again lowering my Mustang (Ebach Springs Kit, not home chop shop version). Reinforcements are just one part of the entire equation there.

Was actually thinking i'd rather be spending the extra money on BPs... all values are estimates based on dealer verbal quotes ( you must read all the fine print...) LOL
FYI went with a small step up from base ....
Unfortunately I am way too lazy to walk, and the engine is a neccessity since there is no pedal car option... so oh well, no carmel or lesser next year!
