Morph Question /w pic

vt Oct 02, 2005 10:48 AM

I just received this leopard gecko from a home that wasn't taking care of him. They had him in a 5.5 gallon with a heat rock. He is now in a 10 gallon with an undertank heater. My question is what morph is he? He looks alot like the rainwater albinos. I am new to leopard geckos, but I have read several caresheets. I am feeding him 4 mealworms/day. Should I feed anymore than that? I keep D. leucomelas 3.2.1 and D. imitator 0.0.2 poison dart frogs and I also have a western hognose, so I am not really new to reptiles/amphibians.

He is an albino, and since he is fairly big you can feed him more the 4 mealworms aday.

He's definately an albino, not sure if it's a rainwater or not. He looks like one heathy guy !! As far as feeding, just put a dozen or so mealies in a bowl and let him eat as many as he pleases, he won't overeat, but 4 a day I would think is not nearly enough. My adult male in a typical day with eat 2-3 Superworms and 10 or so mealworms, or 5-6 crickets and 10 or so mealworms. Right now he's only eating every other day with the season changes though.

It is always a good idea to give them a variety in their diets if you can, though some Leos will only eat one type of feeder. My leos eat crickets, mealworms, superworms and a weekly treat of 2 waxworms. I am planning to order silkworms and give them a try, they are nutritionally the best thing you can feed your Leo. But, unfortunately for most people (me included) they cannot be bought locally they have to be ordered. Congrats & Good Luck with your Leo

that would be a tremp albino. as far as how much he should be fed, give him about 13 every other day and he'll eat all he wants, or you could just give him 3-4 superworms.

He dose look rainwater but the best way to find out is to get your self a 100% rainwater breed them to gether.if you get albino baby's then he's a rainwater if you get normal baby's then he i'd say tremper but the baby's will be double het so (normal het tremper & rainwater albino).
