Desert iggy's

ReptileGurl08 Oct 02, 2005 07:33 PM

Hi,
I am gonna be getting a trio of desert ig's in a month or two,so I need a checklist on what to get.

And is it true you can house them in a metal cattle troph?

Thanks a bunch!

Head over to the Chuckwalla forum for answers to your DI questions. Lots of knowledgeable folks over there. I enjoy my DI's a lot but would never consider housing them in a cattle trough. I enjoy watching them too much and that would be difficult if they were housed that way.

Hey,
Thanks for your help.

That was a rumor I heard from a breeder.I got a deal at a garage sale on a 150 gallon tank..Its a big cage, but I am sure it will be big enough .

Thanks again

I'm sure there probably are some DI keepers that house their iguanas in troughs, just as there are monitor, uromastyx, BD, and other keepers who use that method. It can work well for some species, including DI's. The reason I don't use it is because I like to observe my lizards easily and standing over them looking down into a metal bin doesn't allow that.

Good luck with your DI's.
