Hot White Lava!

I just today cleaned my ball python's cage and instead of putting more aspen shavings back in i put paper towel down instead. I figure it is easier to see where they have pooed this way. But she is acting like she doesnt like the paper towel.

she crawls on top of the different things in the tank and it looks like she is trying to say off the paper towel as if it is uncomfortable or something.

Anyone else have this problem? I have a couple corns too and i did the same thing with them, i built them a crawly structure to go on top of their tank and they always hang out in it, i am wondering now if it is because of the paper towel.

Should i just give it a few days or what? its not like the snake can tell me if it is uncomfortable, and i dont wanna do anything they dont like. dealing with the aspen bedding is just messy though.

Its just a change for your snake. Most snakes take a few days to settle in after a change has been made. It should be fine as probably 60% of people on these forums use paper towels with no problems.

No worries!
