PLEASE HELP

S[bleep]S Oct 02, 2005 10:42 PM

I just got a pair of 2 month old corns about a week ago, and when I came home today, I found that they had both escaped! They were in shoebox-sized sterilite tubs on a rack system, but somehow managed to slip out the top? Please help! Is there anything I could do to try to catch them??? I dont want anything to happen to them!

Pray.
I'm not the praying type, but other than disassembling your home piece by piece, I don't know. Look everywhere they could possibly be, then look everywhere impossible for them to be, rinse, and repeat as necessary.

You could try putting out a mouse or two. Maybe they would show up for food. Get a 2 liter plastic bottle and cut the top off where it starts to go straight. Then turn it upside down and put the neck of the bottle into the main part. You could use duct tape to hold the 2 halves together. You could put the mice in first if you need to. Put it somewhere on the floor where it is warm, but not hot, maybe a heating pad set to low, and hopefully the snakes will go into the trap. You see, when they try to get out, they won't find the small opening they came in through. Cover it with a towel too. Hopefully you will catch your snakes

Yes, thats what I'm trying right now, but only i'm using 20 oz bottles. My snakes are very small, only a few months old. Thanks for you help, I feel like such an idiot.

Check by warm sources or in dark places. A friend once found a lost snake inside a VCR. Check shoes, or behind books on shelves.

From what I read, drag a thawed mouse along the baseboards, then put it in a container at the end of the drag. Check the "trap" occasionally.

You could also put a desk lamp on the floor over a hide and see if they go in it for the heat.

I'd think you'd need to attract them somehow (food or heat)...

Good Luck and keep the dog/cat outside!!
