proportional thermostats

herbivorous Oct 03, 2005 01:32 AM

I was wondering what the "best" proportional thermostat is on the market right now. I currently run my cages on the on/off kind, but I'm trying to control the night drop a little bit better to facilitate breeding. Does anyone have any experience with the one that Big Apple sells? How about Helix or the Herpstat that I've seen advertised? The thermostat will only be used to control the temperatures in two cages. Thanks a lot.

I have Helix and Big Apple's model. Both work great. Helix has a digital readout and Big Apple's doesn't, though I really don't care about that. I actually like the analog-style dial of the Big Apple. Helix has a longer track record of proven quality. I have a 7-year-old Helix still going strong.
