Brumation question for Thayeri/Mt King crosses

Nokturnel Tom Oct 03, 2005 11:41 AM

I am wondering if these Hybrids need the cooler than average brumation temps that the Thayeri and Mt Kings require? I had Thayeri and sold them because I could get them to produce, and it was my guess that brumation in my garage here in central TX was not cold enough. Do the Hybrids need a long cold brumation???

Hi Tom
3 months at 55 should do it, tom if your having problems with the temp in TX you could get a small fridge remove the light and buy a good thermostat to control it with, to combat the dry atmosphere place a bowl of water on the top and bottom shelf...
Problem solved.
I hope this helps.

Sorry i forgot the most important bit.

MAKE SURE YOU DONT FORGET TO PUT A FEW SMALL BREATH HOLES IN AND COVER THEM WITH A FINE MESH TO STOP ANY BUGS GETTING IN.
