Shyness in Auratus

Mark W. Jul 20, 2003 10:16 AM

Hello all,
I was wondering, what morphs of the Green and Black auratus are people keep that are so shy.The Costa Ricans I have are about as bold as terribilis must be.Today I set a pringles lid with flour rice beetles larve in it in their tank and had to move one of the frogs out of the way by touching it before I could set the lid down where I wanted it.The frog was a 3 month old froglet that I raised. It got me thinking when this happened why some people say their Green and Black auratus are very shy..............Mark W.

If there are not alot of hiding spots or high humidity auratus do become fairly shy, but my auratus are all extremely bold but they have atleast 90% humidity and tons of hiding places

I've posted before about my blue and black auratus being extremely shy, but don't know about the greens. Patrick told me his green morphs are a lot bolder than the blue I obtained from him. They are much better now that I've finally managed to arrange their plants and cover so they seem to feel more secure. They are all over the place when condensation builds up on the glass, but of course then they are hard to appreciate.
