Help with this big-eyed mystery snake from Ecuador?

This was found in the Napo River basin in North East Ecuador. Dense primary rain forest lowlands.

Maybe Bartlet knows? It was his book we were using...
Also, if you are interested, I posted a couple pictures in what kind of lizard is this, and one in the what kind of frog is this - all from the same trip.

Looks like a juvenile Dendrophidion dendrophis to me, although it is hard to be sure of the size. There is a pic in Bartlett's book.

It was about 14 inches long. The eyes and head shape are very similar to Dendrophidion dendrophis. Thanks for the input. The local indiginous guide we were with said it was a juvi lancehead... I think they call almost all snakes lanceheads down there.

Here is a picture I found on the internet of dendrophis.
