slugs..

shinysnakeskin Oct 03, 2005 11:54 PM

okay i was reading a post that is a little bit down this page and i saw something about slugs.
what causes the egg or eggs to go bad or turn into slugs.. i guess you can call bad eggs slugs? is that the same meaning?
can temps be a reason? i know the females weight can have a part, like if shes skinny or just not ready?..
also....i see picture with the mother snake wrapped around her eggs. and then ill see pictures with the eggs by themselves... so what happens? do you let the mother sit on her eggs for a while and then move them someplace else alone? or can you let the mother stay the whole time with her eggs till they hatch? or do you just take them away right after the eggs come out of her?
im new to breeding so i guess id like to learn about what to do with the eggs. i think i pretty much know who to breed the snakes like with temps and everything. next step is to learn about taking care of the eggs...
so if any of you know a link to a site that tells you step by step of what to do with the eggs once you get them that would be awsome.
thank you for taking the time to read..

This should go a long ways towards answering all of those breeding questions you have.

...While Mr. Mandic did do an excellent job detailing how he breeds his ball pythons, it is by no means the only way it is done. Others you talk to may use different methods to achieve the same goal...the basic "recipe" remains the same, but there are many variations out there. Finding out what works for you and your snakes is part of the "puzzle" that makes this hobby/business enjoyable.
