I would like to start with 6-8 RETF and after about 6-12 months add 6-8 more. is there a high rate of cannibalism with them? should i worry about a size differencee? or should i get them all at once? should i start with froglets or adult frogs?

AFAIK there is very little risk of canabalalism.
However you should consider getting them all at the same time because it's less stressful for the frogs.
When I first went to get retfs I was going to get captive bred younglings. However when I finally found some young adult wild caught ones, the colours on them were so much more vibrant that I decided to go with them instead.
I can tell you that young adults do very well.
