I am wondering is it hard to convert diamondbacked waters to rodents. And is a pure rodent diet ok for them?

It probably wouldn't be too difficult by scenting rodents with fish slime, but there is a large amount of conjecture whether this is a good idea or not. Do some reading on the hognose forum (toads vs. rodents) and the gartersnake forum (fish vs. rodents) and you will see that there are lots of differing opinions out there. Few of them are substantiated with any evidence or anything more than an anecdotal observation or two.
In regard to your questions on the watersnake forum -
- they should be easy to breed, and they have big clutches of babies
- you cannot house an adult female in a 20 gallon aquarium. These are big snakes. They are 4 feet long and very heavy bodied. A large female would need a cage at least 48 inches long.

i used to have a water snake... it had a bunch of babies, and then we just gave them away. it had sex with a snake in the petshop probably 
ok so anyway, i never had any success with any rodent feeding. try it out, though. it would be pretty cool
