exoterra waterfall,anyone have it and...

im wondering about the exoterra waterfall/fog generator.i just bought it and installed it and it seems ok im just curious how it holds up and any problems i should look for.i installed it in a way where i filled the gaps with moss and plants so if there are a lot of problems that require removing the pump or anything ill disturb my whole left side of the vivarium in the process.im also curious about the material its made of.before adding it i have some nice rocks and wood in that area that looked weathered and moss was growing on them, now ,with the new waterfall,it kinda looks out of place because of how clean it looks.im wondering if anyone has any moss or algea growing on theirs and how it looks after being in a while.im really worried about having to service the pump because i siliconed all the wires to the back glass and it will be a real problem and i will have to destroy a lot of plants to get it back out.thanks

One problem I noticed with the fogger addition(omit the fact that you need to buy it separate from the water fall) is if your area contains hard water, then calcium/mineral build up will eventually clog up the fogger. Its easy to clean though (soak in vinager and brush it) but you'll have to remove it to clean.

yea that can be a problem as my waterfall is now imbedded in live moss, soil and plants.how often do you think this will happen? do you ever have a problem with the pump getting clogged with debree like dirt or moss or anything?will bottled or distilled water help with the buildup problem?

Well I was able to let mine go for about 8 months without haveing a mineral clog and I live in an area with hard water. I also make my own filter cartrage around my pump so I dont run into any problems with debris. Over time yours will probaibly get clogged and may stop working aswell depending on your substrate. I eventually got fed up with that waterfall and now make my own out of shale.
